B1 Analysis of Existing Digital Profiles

A Digital Profile is your first impression as it establishes your online reputation. It contains a brief run down of someone's
characteristics and may even be considered more important than a CV. When constructing a Digital Profile for yourself,
you need to be sure that it portrays you in a light that you would wish to be seen by the likes of potential future
employers, clients ect.



This is an example of an effective Digital Profile. As you can see, the profile features the owner's name at the top
of the profile under a professional looking, high quality photo of themselves. This is necessary to suggest that they offer
top tier services. Their name is also positioned front and centre in the middle of the screen, making this one of the
first parts of the profile that the viewer will see. The Profile also features her place of work "University of Michigan", which
is a public research University based in Ann Arbor, Michigan and as well as the fact that she is also based in the "Greater New York City Area". There is also an option to message this person which is very ideal for the likes of future employers as this creates an easy means of communication. The description beneath goes on to state "I'm an experienced media executive, a strategic thinker who can lead digital and print publishing teams to deliver on corporate goals and revenue targets. Drawn to projects that inspire passion in both the creators and consumers." 








This is another example of an existing Digital Profile however, on the contrary to the previous example, this one is far
more simplistic. This profile features a very brief overall summary of a person's achievements and information. Beneath
the name 'Jamie I. Shum', the profile mentions that she is an intern for 'ICExploratory' and she is a Social and Digital
Media, PR, Research and Performing Arts enthusiast. Like the previous example, she is also based in the 'Greater NewYork Area'.

Research into the Film Industry: When looking at employment opportunities in media, I researched the film industry as this is the sector that I am most interested in.  The film industry or motion picture industry comprises the technological and commercial institutions of film-making, i.e., film production companies, film studios, cinematography, animation, film production, screenwriting, pre-production, post production, film festivals, distribution and actors.  The oldest national film industry is Hollywood and is also perhaps the most well known across the world.
