B1 Constructing a CV

 CV:

A CV stands for Curriculum Vitae and is a short written summary of someone's qualifications, career and education. A CV is important because the better someone's CV is, the higher chance of success they'll have with employment. It is very necessary to have good practice in CV writing because this will mean you are more likely to produce an acceptable CV and therefore, significantly increase your chances of job opportunities in the future.

Researching into CVs:

Before creating my CV I researched into existing CVs, particularly those from existing practitioners within the Media Industry. Here is an example of one:

The first thing that I noticed about this CV which I believe makes it effective is the layout. This CV features a neatly condensed layout in an easy to read format. It is clearly segmented under 3 separate headings which consist of 'Professional Profile', 'Core Skills' and 'Career Summary'. It is also worthy to mention that the top of the CV features the owner's name, profession, location and contact details, making it very easy for any employers to contact them. The individual outlines their experience within their professional profile by stating that they have 3 years of experience. This suggests to a future employer that they are not amateur and are very knowledgeable in their field of work.
