The University of Sunderland has almost 20,000 students who attend campuses based in the North East of England, London and Hong Kong. Not only do they feature opportunities for production skills, but they also have accommodations for film and acting with BA (Hons) Film and Media or BA (Hons) Screen Performance. For the exploration and study of media they have BA (Hons) Media, Culture and Communications. The University of Sunderland's Media courses are designed to help develop practical and theoretical skills that are highly sought after by employers in the industry. I am interested in becoming a professional video editor in the Film Industry therefore, it is important for me to look for a course that would support these ambitions. The course that I would choose if I were to attend the University of Sunderland is Film Production BA (hons). This is a course which strongly encourages the use of technical skills, therefore this would be more than ideal for someone who specializes in video editing. It is a 3/6 year course (full time or part time) with a current fee of £9,250 and an international fee of £13,000. As for the entry requirements, their typical offer is 112-120 UCAS points from a minimum of two A Levels or equivalent (e.g. 1 x AVCE double award). If I were to attend Northumbria University, the course I would choose is Film and TV Production BA (Hons). In order to apply for this course, you require 120 UCAS Tariff points and at least Maths and English Language at a minimum of grade 4/C or an equivalent.

This course features the options to have a foundation year and a work placement with the choice of studying full-time or part-time.


The price to study this course full time is £9,250 and £4,500 to study it part time.

The entry requirements for this course consist of 96-112 points from any combination of recognised Level 3 qualifications. Aside from formal qualifications, those with any evidence of practical media production experience are also considered.
